Art furnishingsfor artful living

Jeffrey Cooper has developed highly unique artistry that brings healing beauty of the natural world into our living spaces. With his background in furniture-making he brings a skill set not often found in the world of sculpture, the ability to build constructions using high quality woodworking joinery and techniques.

Jeffrey is a member and past chairman of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association, a member and juror for the League of NH Craftsmen, a member of the Guild of NH Woodworkers and New England Sculpture Associates.

Browse this website and you will see commissioned public artworks, furniture pieces both speculative and custom designed for particular clients, lots of sculpture both relief carvings and fully in the round. Some for indoors, some for outdoors. Enjoy. And if you like what you see don’t hesitate to contact Jeffrey to let him know, to join his mailing list, or to commission something for yourself or your organization.

PublicPortfolio work

For Jeffrey, Public art is best when it connects places with the viewer. The artist is behind the scene, not the show itself. With that in mind, his public art commissions start with finding out the values and aspirations of the commissioning agency.

You’ve heard the saying “Form Follows Function,” Marshall McLuhan. This is a guiding principle for Jeffrey’s furniture designs. He starts with the question, “What do you want this piece to do for you?” and makes your piece your personal expression.

Sculpture and GardenPortfolio work

Jeffrey once visited a slate quarry in Poultney, VT. He loaded up his pick-up truck with all the slabs he could carry safely and drove home. Thus began a series of sculptural garden art incorporating wood and stone that is also useful furnishings.
